About the Job

Position Summary:

A Scientist II, CLD at BIB is a highly motivated individual that works independently on biotherapeutics cell line development project of recombinant protein and antibody drugs. This individual will have a role in the cell line development and also focus on new methods and technologies for example of targeted integration and host cell engineering to significantly enhance productivity. A strong candidate will have in-depth experience in mammalian cell genetic engineering. The Scientist II at BIB is among the core members that significantly contribute to the operation of BIB and to defining the direction of growth of BIB.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and characterize high producing stable CHO cell lines suitable for biotherapeutic manufacturing within project timelines.
  2. By scientific search find a good method to improve cell and process productivity
  3. Effective collaborate and communicate with colleagues within and across functions.
  4. Routinely demonstrate scientific initiative and creativity in research and development activities
  5. Highly autonomous and productive performing laboratory research or method development requiring only minimal direction from interaction with supervisor.
  6. Formulate conclusions and design follow-on experiments based on multidisciplinary data.
  7. Initiate new areas of investigation that are scientifically meaningful, reliable, and can be incorporated directly into a research or development program.
  8. Demonstrate high proficiency across a wide range of relevant technologies.
  9. Maintain a high level of productivity in the lab.
  10. Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials.

Qualifications

  1. Ph.D./MS/BS degrees in biology, biochemistry, biomedical/biochemical engineering, or related fields
  2. Ph.D. with ≥ 2 year or MS with ≥5 years or BS with ≥7 years of industry research experience in cell line development
  3. Should possess thorough theoretical and practical understanding of own scientific discipline.
  4. Experience in one or more of the following: genetic engineering for example CRISPR Knock-Out/Knock-Ins, ZFN and homologous recombination, targeted/site-specific integration recombinase mediated cassette exchange (Cre/Lox, FRt/Flp), flow cytometry/fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS), genetic characterization RNA bioinformatics (example PCR, ddPCR, RNASeq, qPCR, NGS), epigenetic studies (example HiSeq, 4C, ATAC), and related skills.
  5. Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills, as well as good ability to develop creative solutions to challenging problems
  6. Strong teamwork/collaboration spirits and good ability to communicate appropriately and effectively
  7. Client focused, results oriented, and science and innovation driven with good financial awareness.
  8. Advanced written skills
  9. Attention to detail, and the ability to multitask
  10. Proficient with the use of MS Office software (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Powerpoint)
