Position Summary:

The Research Associate role within Analytical Development is an entry level position for individuals with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Responsibilities include developing analytical methods for biologics characterization, characterizing samples from process development, and supporting subsequent clinical and/or commercial GMP manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to the development and application of liquid chromatography methods (including RP, SEC, IEX etc.) for biologics process development and supporting purposes. Additionally, contribute to the development and application of other common analytical methods such as electrophoresis, Western-Blot, ELISA, PCR, endotoxin and host cell protein quantitation, concentration determination, and cell-based assays under supervision.
  2. Record, analyze, and report experimental and analytical characterization data. Maintain accurate experimental records and results in laboratory notebook and/or datasheet.
  3. Order needed materials and supplies for the relevant projects.
  4. Work with project team members to resolve any arising problems during the project period.
  5. Attend regular group meetings to update the progress of the projects.
  6. Write SOPs and technical reports.
  7. Ensure and promote safe environmental and laboratory practices.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related/relevant discipline or demonstrated coursework in such areas.
  2. Ability to work independently and cross-functionally. Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
  3. Flexible and results oriented.
  4. Good written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Basic math and MS Office software skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  6. Desirable: Familiarity with analytical method development and qualification of biologics molecules, and characterization and data analysis/interpretation. Also, basic equipment troubleshooting.
