Essential requirements for this position include in-depth understanding and hands-on experience with recombinant protein purification from different expression hosts (including E. coli, Yeast, CHO and HEK) and an aptitude for careful, detail-oriented experimentation. The level of the position will be commensurate with the candidate’s experiences.

Job responsibility:

• Develop robust, efficient, scalable purification process for recombinant protein, antibody, and other biological molecules including AAV and plasmid DNA
• Execute purification work and maintain legible and detailed work documentation
• Analyze data, form conclusions, and communicate results to team members
• Prepare technical reports, make oral presentations internally to scientists and management, and to clients externally as needed
• Demonstrate ability to work independently and in a team setting within the group and cross-functionally

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Chemistry related field with 0-10 years experience in the biopharmaceutical industry; or MS degree in Biochemistry or Chemical Engineering with 0-5 years experience in the biopharmaceutical industry; or Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry or Chemical Engineering with 0-2 years experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
• Knowledge and Proficiency with TFF, depth filtration and sterile filtration
• Knowledge and Proficiency with ion exchange, size exclusion, hydrophobic, and affinity chromatography using AKTA purification systems
• Knowledge and Proficiency with protein assay, gel electrophoresis, HPLC methods and systems
• Good verbal and written skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience of downstream process development
• Knowledge and hands-on experience of ELISA assay and qPCR assay is highly desired
• Knowledge and hands-on experience of microbial fermentation and mammalian cell culture is a plus
